Is it Tuesday?

For some reason I feel today is Thursday! Yesterday was the longest and wet day for me! I was so exhausted from long Easter weekend. We had a great time with our friends from Indiana. It was so wonderful catching up all the news and the house was full of laughters. We were so sad to see them leaving yesterday morning. The weather was very NASTY!!! Raining, raining, raining and raining all day long!!! It affected my mood but I managed to finish some of my work yesterday.

Thought to share with you that we went to see the play in Ford's Theatre last Sunday - Big River: the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

Big River Posted by Hello

I really enjoyed the play so much. It was so unique because there are mixed of hearing and deaf professional artists to create two cultures into the form of storytelling. For instance, Mark Twain (the hearing actor) who is actually the voice of Huck in the book, voice Huck who is deaf signing in the play. The hearing artists do the voice for themselves as same time they use sign languages. All deaf artists sign with the shadows of hearing artists do the voice for them. It was so fascinating. Big River is now in Washington, DC till first weekend of June. If you are interested, you can check it out www.ticketmaster.com for the times if you live nearby D.C.

I didn't knit much over the weekend. No special plans for this weekend and I hope to finish the sleeves for my sweet Klaralund. I really want to wear it before the weather is really warm.

Hmmm hmmm!!!!

Fibers
You are Fibers!
Fun and crazy at times. You are a warm fuzzy kind
of person. You run around getting things done
but still find time for fun! You have so many
diverse interests that it is often hard to pin
you down to any one thing. People love your
friendly attitude and carefree ways. You often
brighten other people's days. But Fibers Beware
- Sometimes people don't take you seriously
because of your happy-go-lucky ways. Sometimes
you find yourself feeling left out from
decision making that could directly affect you.
Even though you like to be happy and cheerful,
make sure others know that you can also be
serious and in tune with reality.

What scrapbooking item are you?

It's SUNNY today!!!! It's so nice to see some SUN. Yesterday was so nasty!!! Raining and raining and raining all day!!!!! I felt so yucky and crabby!

I feel a lot better today than last night. I found another WIP (sock) that I overlooked. Geez... it was in the tote bag next to my bed. That has to add to my "Things to Do" list!

My dear friends from Indiana will be coming down tonight for the Easter weekend. I will be busy.

Black cloud?

For some reasons, I feel black cloud above my head following me all day!!!

* The weather is very nasty!!!!
* I just discovered my car tire is FLAT!!!!
* The microwave at work is destroyed from burning popcorn!! Blamed one of student assistants for not paying attention!
* My office is MESS!!!! All papers and books are on the floor now. The papers are piling up all over my desk. So clutter that makes my mind so clutter!!!!

I need SUN!!! I need 50 assistants to take some of my work!!! I need another cup of coffee!!!
I do not want to be here at work but home and KNIT!!!!!

Oh boy, I'm sorry I'm nagging, complaining, whining and crabby! I need dry, warm and SUN, please!!!!!!

I better shut up and knit my sweet Klaralund in my office waiting for my DH to rescue me!!! Thanks for hearing me out. I feel better now!

Spring Cleaning?

Today is first day of Spring and the weatherman predicted we will have warm weather later this week. Please, please, please let me put all the winter clothes away this week!!! I'm ready to wear spring clothes and knit spring tops!!

Here are the pictures I promised you..... You have to look down the pictures of WIPs. Forgive me that I still could not figure out how to post all pictures at same time. I'm so impatient and want someone to sit down and show me how to do it instead of reading the instructions.

I have decided to proritize my WIPs....

1. Klaralund sweater
2. Classic cardigan for my DH
3. Robin top
4. Coast to Coast sweater

I can finish two scarves at anytime as I tend to take these projects for a short trip. I knit while my DH drive.

I really want to start new projects. I already put "post-in" pad on my knitting magazines or books.

So...isn't time for me to finish them up before summer come????

My Sweet Klaralund!!!! Noro Silk Garden - #84 Posted by Hello Half way to go on both sleeves. I hope to finish them by next week. I could finish the sleeves this weekend but my friends from Indiana will be in town to spend with us for Easter weekend.

Classic Cardigan sweater for my DH (The Knit Book from Sally Melville) Posted by Hello I feeeeeeeel so bad that I kept breaking my promises!!! My DH is so patience and anxious to wear it before Spring comes. Geez.... it's Spring now and I don't know if my DH will wear it till cold weather in the fall. It's 90% completed.... just finish last piece of sleeve and add the button band. I should have finished it before I start Klaralund. I know I'm WEAK and impatient!!!!

Marnie sweater from Hot Knits book Posted by Hello I really enjoy knitting this sweater but I have to pay attention on every time I start working on cables. It's really slow progress but I have no deadline for that sweater. (maybe I should!!!)

"Robin" top from Colinette pattern. I used tagliatelli merino tape. Posted by Hello I was that close to finish the top last fall. I made HUGE mistake knitting two sleeves - I knitted garter stitch instead of stocking stitch. I realized that the sleeves didn't match the front and back. Grrr!!!! I ripped the sleeves off and have not gone back to make the right ones. I know it may take me an hour to finish one sleeve. I was sooooo MAD and didn't want to deal with this. I know I'm BIG baby!! I think I'm over with this and am ready to nurture my top.

Coast to Coast sweater - Spinnerin (1963) pattern. I used Brunswick 100% Pure Virgin Wool worsted yarn. Posted by Hello I don't enjoy knitting that yarn they are rough! Just 3/4 to go to finish last sleeve. I want to finish it before the weather gets too warm for me to knit. I'm not sure if I want to wear it or give it to someone. I will take more pictures of this sweater as soon as I pick this up later.

Basketweave Scarf - Cherry Tree Hill Super Sport - Green Mountain Madness Posted by Hello I brought the yarn at All About Yarns (grand opening) in Columbia, Maryland last October. I really love the Cherry Tree Hill yarns so much as they are so soft and easy to knit with. The color is so adorable. Sorry, the picture is not too GREAT to see. Believe me, the yarn is soooo soft!

Train Tracks scarf - Crystal Palace Choo-Choo Posted by Hello I really like the color but it is very hard to knit this novelty yarn. The yarn is very slippery to knit. I guess this project test my patience. I want to use two skeins of Crystal Palace Choo-Choo instead of one as the instruction mentioned. I would like to have the long one to match my navy wool coat. I'm almost finished with one skein.

Happy Spring!!!

Tomorrow is first day of Spring! Hope we will have a great weather this week.

I have real bad neck spasm all day. I must have slept wrong way and woke up so painful! I hardly move left side. I guess it's good thing that I sat down and knitted all afternoon. I feel so LAZY!!!!!

Early this evening, I went through all the WIP bags and am so disgusted myself (or is it normal?) that most of WIPs are at least 70% to 90% completed. I don't know why I didn't continue to finish them first before I start new one. I guess I'm either bored with that yarn/project or tried to keep up with the knit-along group. I know two things for fact are that I'm impulsive and disorganized. I plan to prioritize all WIPs after I finish Klaralund. I'm half way of two sleeves at same time.

So I'm determined to finish these of WIPs before starting anything new. Will post some photos tomorrow to show you of my WIPs.

Monday...Monday...Monday!!!!!!

Blah.... wish the weekend was not over too fast. I haven't been knitting so much over the weekend but I had a BUSY weekend. I was doing Spring Cleaning all weekend. I decided to clean up my craft room all day on Saturday but ended up making two non-knitting projects!!! Sighs!!! I could not resist these projects and decided to do it. I know I have no self control!!! I was supposed to clean up the room and get reward by making new projects. Sadly, the craft room is not 100% clean!!! I was planning to give away a lot of patterns (mostly dolls, clothing and quilting) and replace all the yarn stash in new place but I have not done it yet!! I want to organize all the yarns in one places instead of too many places... (in the bedroom, in the library, in the family room and two yarns are still on the kitchen table!!!)

Yesterday was very good day for me. I decided to clean up in the library and gave away a lot of books. I urged my DH to give up all the magazines and tool catalogs. He was sooooo resistant but gave up all the catalogs. He wants to keep all the woodworking magazines. Sighs!! I can't blame him as he wants me to give up all the knitting magazines. FAT chance!!!

Now, I have to go back to my craft room tonight to continue reorganizing my craft stuff... I promise myself not to make any more projects which I'm so tempted to do it.

Now, I'm leaving you to see the projects I made last Saturday.... of course, I love theme decorations as Easter is coming up real soon!

Primitive Bunny Pin Cushion Posted by Hello So simple project... took me an hour to complete it.

This week is Spring Break at the university..... Wooo hooooo!!!! It should be a nice week without any students around bothering me. I hope I will have productive week!! If I'm a student, I would fly to Ireland and celebrate Irish Day this Thursday!!!

Have a GOOD week!!!!!

I'm going to read the instruction tonight before I go to bed. I never experience in spinning and always want to learn. I'm so scared to learn how to do it alone!!!! I don't want to mess up the fiber - I might go to the library to do more research on spinning.

My Klaralund

Knitting News..... Posted by Hello I'm still working slowly with my Klaralund. I have to say that really is therapeutic and I'm very happy that I'm enjoying knitting this sweater. I love this color so much. Noro Silk Garden #84. I finished the back part and now I'm half way to go in front part before I start working on two sleeves. I made this one for my sister for Christmas. She loves it so much and I want to have one for myself. Isn't that beauty??

Today is so BEAUTIFUL day.... so SPRING feeling! Unfortunely I was stuck inside of the building working all day. But we had cookout for dinner today!!! So yummy!!! The temperature will go down this week!!! Can't wait to have warm weather come back so I can wear spring clothes!!! I'm sick of wearing heavy warm clothes!

Stitch Markers from Taipei!!!!

Look what I got today.... beautiful stitch markers from Justine (www.asisaadventure.blogspot.com) As I read her blog and found that the stitch markers she made. I really love these stitch markers. I emailed her to see if she sells the markers. She would not sell but accept to trade these markers for yarns. I sent her two beautiful wool yarns two weeks ago and recieved the markers. Sorry the picture is blurry but each marker has animal zodiac. I will try to take another picture during the daytime. Posted by Hello

I'm BAAAAAACK!!!!

* Long Blog Warning!!!!!*

I had so much fun in Rochester! I got back yesterday! It was so good to see my DH. I missed him dearly when I was gone for 6 nights.

I arrived in Rochester last Tuesday night. It was snowing hard and I was so happy that the trip was smooth. It was so good to see Sharon. We were up till 2 a.m. catching up the news.

I visited NTID and RIT to meet Residence Life team and Student Development team. The staff were so friendly! I learned so much from their programs and brought me a lot of ideas on how to improve the system at work. I was so glad to meet with them and hope they will come down here to see our campus. Hopefully we will set up the Exchange Program for our residence hall staff in the near future.

Debbie from Indiana arrived Wednesday afternoon and we went out to eat for dinner. Sue from Maryland arrived Thursday morning and the party begun. We opened our gifts and loved them so much! They were impressed with my knitting projects as they were so eager to learn how to knit something. We debated on whether they want to knit the sweater or tote bag. I convinced them to knit the tote bag. We all agreed that I will teach them how to knit the sweater next year in my house. (I will be the hostess of our 10th year Crazy Crowd Crafts)

We immediately started working on our projects as you will see a lot of photos below. (I'm sorry that I could not figure out to post all photos in one place!!!)

The times went too FAST as the gathering ended yesterday morning. I cherish my friends so much. I'm looking forward to our gathering next year!!!!

Here we are - the members of Crazy Crowd Crafts! Debbie from Indiana, Sharon, the hostess (Rochester), me and Sue from Maryland.  Posted by Hello

We spent all day and night working on crafts!!! Posted by Hello

Here is the evidence!!! We laughed sooooo hard!!! I don't know what was we talking about but we laughed all day and night!!!! Posted by Hello

We went to Spirits Work Knits store in Rochester. We had so much FUN!!!! I introduced my dear friends all the snob yarns as they never heard or seen them before. They enjoyed so much as they were drooling over the yarns!!! They decided to make Sophie bags. Aren't they happy? Posted by Hello

Here is Debbie from Indiana.  Posted by Hello

Here is Sharon, the hostess of the Crazy Crowd Crafts! She learned how to make Sophie bag. Posted by Hello

We all made four pin cushions - heart shaped with the door knob, angel on glass candlestick, hand and heart on wooden candlestick and crow on spool. We originally planned to make one or two but we ended up making four pin cushions as we could not decide which one we want to make. We wanted to make all of them!! No regrets!!!  Posted by Hello

Here is the Pine Cone Santa we made for 2 hours projects. So CUTE!!!!!!  Posted by Hello
